New Beginnings

A Charming, Intimate Wedding at Island Lake Community Center, Silverdale, Washington - April 10th, 2010

Miss M had quite a modest budget to work with, but the wisdom to have a smaller wedding. Combining that with her innate creativity, and the advantage of taking over a year to plan allowed Miss M to create many simple yet beautiful touches.

As creative as she is, Miss M is is also a realist: she knew that while she could design a wedding and create or source the elements to make it work, she simply couldn't coordinate all the details of the day AND be able to enjoy the fruits of her labour. That's where studio G occasions came in. We created the timeline and a room layout for the day, made sure the rental chairs and buffet supplies from Kitsap Event Rentals arrived and were set up properly with the custom sashes Miss M made... (note the lace butterflies!)

We also  laid out the beverage station and a buffet from Popeye's  - a very affordable option, and very appropriate fare for a spring afternoon wedding,

Her flower girls were flower faeries, both very darling, one very busy flower faerie who needed a little bribery with mints from our emergency kit!

A very fun clear acrylic cake stand with custom ordered Fred Meyer cupcakes to match her colors -

The cupcakes were surrounded on either side by a lollipop garden - enjoyed later by the young guests...

Beautiful leis from were brought Hawaii to celebrate the bride's heritage.... (but they weren't open leis as ordered, so studio G had to do a bit of lei repair on the fly! Good thing we bring along a floral design kit, too.)

Miss M hand embellished a mailbox made a home for well wishes & cards...

The guest book pages were from guestbookstore.com - color your own portrait & that of the bride & groom:

Of course, her dress was beautiful, with the tailoring provided by Ms Vick's Custom Design Bridal in Silverdale, whom Miss M calls "an angel with a needle and thread"

They exchanged beautiful custom rings...

in a ceremony officiated  & certified by the Wedding Officiant Kathleen Ottarson
(with a pretty pen provided by studio G!)

Before heading home all the guests received a CD of some of their favorites from the bride and groom...

Thanks to Mariah Gentry Photography for images of the divine Miss M's creative and affordable ideas! Mariah's photos are better in person (new blogger that I am, I am still figuring out how to do the direct link like she showed me!) so do take a look at her web galleries by clicking on her link above.

At the end of a beautiful day, the bride and groom and families were able to collect their personal items and continue celebrating together, since the studio G occasions team had taken care of all the tear down and cleaning. (and then studio G occasions team went home to relax... as it turned out I did this event while -unbeknownst to me -I had walking pneumonia!)

(A Note: since I wasn't blogging yet, I didn't get permission to use their images or their names, so for now the bride is the divine Miss M.)

  1. Great tips for a budget bride, or any bride for that matter and the story is told beautifully with the pictures. I love the flower faries, a super creative idea. KO
